Terms and Conditions of Booking

All bookings are made with Crossways Travel and are subject to Crossways Travel Terms and Conditions. We operate a mailing list, where names and addresses are kept securely. We do not pass any personal details to any third parties.

Complaints – If you have a complaint during one of our tours please inform the driver/ tour manager who will do their utmost to resolve the problem. Failure to establish your complaint immediately may subsequently affect your right to raise the matter with us after the tour has been completed. If the matter cannot be put right on the spot you must notify our office in writing within 28 days of completion of your trip.

If you cancel your tour – Cancellation must be communicated to us in writing.

Day tours – cancellations made more than 28 days prior to departure will be refunded in full. Cancellations made 14-28 days before departure will be refunded in Crossways Travel credit notes. Cancellations made less than 14 days prior to departure cannot unfortunately be refunded as this does not give us ample time to resell the tickets.

If we cancel your tour – We reserve the right to withdraw any tour from our programme due to insufficient bookings or other operational reason. In the event of cancellation we will inform you where possible not less than 2 weeks prior to departure, and shall refund all the monies paid to us in full. No other claim for additional compensation will be considered by us.

If we change the tour – In the event we need to alter a significant element of your tour we shall inform you as soon as possible, and replace that element with an equivalent or higher standard alternative. If the change significantly affects the tour as a whole, you will have the option of cancelling your booking and receiving a full refund.

Pick-up points – Pick-up points can be discussed when you phone up to book. The details of your exact pick-up point will be sent to you with your tickets. We will arrange a pick-up point as close as possible to your home, however we only offer a door to door service if you have booked and paid for this at the time of booking.

Timings – Pick-up times, where given, will be as accurate as possible, however, traffic and road conditions may cause the coach to be s lightly delayed. Return times are estimated and can change due to traffic and road conditions. We cannot be held responsible if you are not at your designated pick-up point on time or if you are not back on the coach at the time stated by the coach crew during any of our tours. No compensation can be given.

Vehicles/Seats – Coaches are hired in from a variety of local quality operators, specific seats are normally allocated on day excursions and on extended tours. Although, requests can be made to reserve specific seats on any of our tours due to operational reasons these cannot always be guaranteed. We reserve the right to change the vehicle used for our tours at short notice as long as we replace it with a vehicle of a similar standard. On occasions certain on coach amenities (toilet, video etc.) may become inoperative and although we will do our best to fix the problem asap, this may not always be possible. To ensure that our pick-up points are close to your home, we reserve the right to us e feeder buses or taxis , which will subsequently take you to the tour coach.

Smoking, Mobile Phones, Behaviour – All vehicles used by Crossways Travel are “Non-Smoking” throughout. Drivers will make adequate stops for those who wish to leave the coach to smoke.  Mobile phones must be switched off while on board the coach. We reserve the right to refuse bookings or to terminate a clients trip in the event of unreasonable conduct likely to cause damage, distress, danger or annoyance to others.

Insurance – Insurance is not required on our day trips, however, we recommend it on ALL tours of more than one day. Although we are unable to offer travel insurance, when booking an extended tour, details of a specialist insurance supplier can be supplied on request. Insurance is required on all non UK holidays .

 

 

Private Hire – Terms and Conditions Of Hire

Changes to any private hire should be made before the date of the hire. For legal reason the driver is not able to make changes after the hire has commenced. An invoice for the hire will be sent to you or your finance department. Please note that you are required to make payment a minimum of 10 days before departure. If we have not received payment by this time we may have to assume you do not require the hire and cancel the booking without notice.

Should it become necessary for you to cancel your booking please note the following charges will be levied.

Over 15 Days – Nil Charges

8 – 14 days – 50 % total fees

Less than 7 days – 100% charge

These charges reflect the cost of administration, planning of drivers duties and vehicle allocations and additional charges we have to meet from third party coach operators.

DELAYS

Crossways Travel or the coach provider shall not be responsible for failure to keep to times where delays are beyond its control. This also applies in adverse or extreme weather conditions. The hirer is responsible for ensuring that the party are ready to leave on time and to follow the details of the hire. The hirer should also make the driver aware of any concerns or problems which occur with passengers whilst on board the coach or which may affect the hire.

PARKING COSTS

The hirer may be responsible for any parking costs, please enquire for further details.

VEHICLE DAMAGE

The hirer is fully responsible for any damage or mess, created or left on the vehicle. If damage is found or extensive cleaning is required on the vehicles return we reserve the right to charge the hirer the amount we are charged by the coach provider to get the vehicle back to the condition it was in prior to the hire.

PERSONAL PROPERTY

We bear no responsibility for personal items brought on the coach which are lost or damaged except in cases where Crossways Travel or the coach provider are clearly at fault. Any lost property found is held for a maximum of 60 days from the date of the hire, after which it is destroyed.

BREAKDOWN PROCEDURE and LIABILITY

In the event of a vehicle breakdown the coach provider will take whatever actions necessary to ensure in the first instance, the health and safety of all passengers and to complete the hire with minimum disruption. On occasions it may be necessary to change to another operators vehicle if we are unable to continue with the original vehicle, if this happens all liabilities will pass to that operator.

In all cases the liability for the hire remains solely with the operator who has supplied the vehicle for the hire. Any claims regarding the hire should always be directed to the operator of the vehicle that is being used for the said hire. Crossways Travel act only as an agent and all liabilities, whatsoever will always be with the operator who supplied the vehicle.
